Traxxas mystery release official, it’s a Slash 4×4

So anyone in the RC world was probably watching the Traxxas site today in anticipation of there new release. For anyone not paying attention, Traxxas put up a teaser video over the weekend saying they would announce a some “everyone’s been asking for” on 10-8-09. For most of the week RC forums all over have been buzzing with speculation. A lot of people tried looking into the video more to find a clue, and most came up empty. People suggested everything from new buggies, in either scale 1/10 or 1/8, updated versions of older cars. One of the most popular was an E-Slayer, a 4wd short course truck. Some also suggest it would have the lay down shocks from the Revo and E-Revo. In the end that was the correct theory, it’s not being called an E-Slayer, just the Slash 4×4.

I’m not going to go over the truck here, the info is all over the RC sites by now anyways. The Traxxas site itself is not handling the stress of everyone checking out the new toy too well, but some others have put up what I believe are marketing slicks. Radio control zone has a forum post with the information, Traxxas Slash 4×4. The video at the top is from RC Car Action, and shows the truck pretty well. It looks like there was a change to the body as well as the rest of the truck.

Now everyone is wondering when can I buy it, and how much will it cost me, I am sure (mostly because I am thinking the same thing). I was thinking of a 2wd SC truck, like the Strike, but now that this is out I have been rethinking that. So the winter list of things to buy is pretty much now set as, 1/10 Buggy, Slash 4×4, bearings, sway bar kit, a second set of diffentials, hole shots and wheels for running at RCE, another pair of batteries for the E-Revo, new painted bodies for all these damn cars, receivers, and transponders.

Hi, my name is Corey, and I’m and addict.

well one good thing is, if you get the new Slash 4X4, the same diffs work in both trucks.
